Remote Monitoring of Machinery and Facilities
|
A Web server based on the F&eIT microcontroller notifies users of a failure via e-mail as soon as it occurs; those at the facilities no longer need to watch the failure indicator
The staff at the maintenance station can monitor the operation of all the machines and facilities via the in-house LAN at once. At the time of a failure, which is notified via e-mail, alarm mail is sent to the mobile phones of maintenance personnel.

In conventional facilities, a contact signal was used to activate the failure indicator lamp and sound the buzzer, both of which were provided near the facilities. In this new system, a contact signal is sent to the digital input of the F&eIT and used to display the failure status on the monitor screens of the office and maintenance station connected via the LAN. At the same time, the in-house mail server sends e-mail to the mobile phones of maintenance personnel to notify them of the abnormal status. |
The occurrence of an abnormality, which used to be notified via the failure indicator and buzzer, is notified via the mobile phones to allow the maintenance personnel to respond quickly even while they are in transit. Data such as abnormality history and operating time can also be accumulated in order to collect basic data for preventive maintenance. |
