Semiconductor Equipment - General -

In the case of a semiconductor equipment using a conventional PLC, a dedicated communication equipment (ex. PC) had to be installed additionally to establish SECS communication with an upward host computer, thus requiring extra installation space.
 
= The PC CPU equipped with a PLC base requires no additional PC for establishing SECS communication, thus allowing for simpler configuration.
= The device requires less controller space. (Reduction of footprint)
= Utilization of a commercial SECS communication package via a PLC bus is currently planned.


Automotive Parts Processing/Manufacturing Instruction and Data Logging System on Assembly Line

Before   After
On conventional automotive parts processing/assembly lines, a dedicated FA PC had to be installed to serve as an interface between the production control computer and the equipment control PLC, thus requiring extra installation space and wiring.
 
= With the FA PC functions incorporated into a PLC base, it requires less space and wiring.
= As the connection with an equipment PLC is made through a bus, both the data communication time and the tact time on the line can be reduced.
