CONTEC Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of PC-based measurement interfaces and industrial computers, launched a new product of a PC interface board for measurement control systems. The product is the ADA16-8/2(LPCI)L, a 16-bit low-price high-precision analog I/O board supporting both of the standard and low-profile PCI slots, available at low price while being a multi-function board with high-precision (16-bit resolution) analog I/O, digital I/O, and counter features. To meet specific types of applications by users, CONTEC will also release the AD16-16(LPCI)L with enriched analog input functions and the DA16-4(LPCI)L focusing on analog output functions.
PC interface boards for measurement control systems have been needed to incorporate more intelligent features such as high-capacity buffer memory, bus mastering for faster continuous processing, assorted operation modes, hardware processing functions intended for individual applications. On the other hand, they have been also much needed to be released as simple and low-price products with only basic signal input/output features. The new reasonable product is designed to satisfy these market needs, providing various signal I/O interfaces for analog input (16-bit A/D conversion), analog output (16-bit D/A conversion), digital I/O (TTL level, four channels each), and counter input (TTL level, 32-bit binary) used to connect to various devices. It also contains a programmable timer and an external trigger input pin, enabling both of analog signal input and output to be performed on a time basis or in synchronization with external signals.
As this product supports both of the low-profile and standard PCI slots, it can be used on PCs with either type of PCI slot by replacing the bracket

API function library: API-TOOL for Windows
Proprietary library software providing a set of hardware commands in the form of a Windows-standard Win32 API function library (DLL). This library can set special baud rates and detailed FIFO trigger sizes which cannot be set by OS-standard API functions, allowing advanced programming using a wealth of API functions to get the most out of the hardware.
