Contec Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of PC-based instrument interfaces and industrial computers, has developed and commenced sale of the new [SNL-4401-LV NLX Bus, Single-Board Computer] CPU board for embedded applications that supports the 850MHz Intel® Pentium® III and Celeron® (Socket370) CPUs and complies with the NLX standard.
The SNL-4401-LV is a PC/AT compatible CPU board for embedded applications that uses the Intel 440BX + PIIX4E chipset, a Socket370 CPU (600MHz to 850MHz Intel Pentium III or 433MHz to 850MHzCeleron), and supports a maximum of 512MB of SDRAM system memory, including support for ECC memory. The card edge type complies with the NLX standard and connects to a dedicated backplane. This provides ease of maintenance as most peripheral devices can be connected to the backplane, making installing or swapping peripherals easy. A wide range of interfaces are included as standard features on the board including 2 x USB 1.1, 1 x 100BASE-TX LAN, 2 x serial ports (1 x RS-232C and 1 x RS-232C/422/485), 1 x parallel port, 2 x EIDE, and a Disk On Chip socket. The VGA controller uses the SMI Lynx SM722 (8MB of VRAM) which can be used flexibly with a wide range of different LCD panels including TFT, DSTN, and monochrome.
The SNL-4401-LV is the successor to the [PC-686BX(NLX)-LVV and -LV (legacy models)] CPU boards released in December 2001.
