Contec Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of PC-based instrument interfaces and industrial computers, has developed and commenced sales of four new LCD displays in 10.4 and 12.1 inch sizes [Product name: Analog RGB/DVI Input Type Flat Panel Display]. The new products belong to the "IPC-DT/60" series of flat panel displays which feature a touch screen function and analog RGB and DVI inputs.  Including the 6.5 inch size (already on sale), the IPC-DT/60 series now has a total of six model variations with a range of sizes and either panel (with Aluminum face plate) or embedded type (open frame) mounting.  The new products are suitable for a wide range of applications as display units for PCs with an analog RGB (15-pin HD-SUB) output, and can also be used with the latest "Box Computer®" and "Single-Board Computer" industrial computers from CONTEC which use a DVI video output.  The display units also feature a resistive-film analog touch panel which can connect to the PC via a USB or serial (RS-232C) cable to function as a mouse-emulation touch panel input. When used with CONTEC industrial computers (DVI output type), a single DVI-D cable can be used for both the video and touch panel signals, making a USB or serial (RS-232C) cable unnecessary. If USB is used to connect the touch panel signal, multiple display units (up to eight) can be connected to a single PC to provide a multi-touch-panel configuration for the same screen that can accept input from display units installed at different physical locations.  The panel-mounted model (IPC-DT/61) features an attractive Aluminum face plate and complies with the IP65 standard for dust-tightness and splash-proofing. The panel-mounted units also feature a new panel-mounting mechanism with attachments on the rear of the unit that allow the panel housing to be pushed into place. This makes panel mounting easier by eliminating the need for boss holes which were required on the panel housing on previous models. A stand kit [IPC-SND-03] (sold separately) is also available and enables the display to be used on a desktop.  The embedded model (IPC-DT/65) is an open frame type unit without the Aluminum face plate and is attached from the front using screws (included) or with studs on the panel face. Waterproof packing and a sealing washer are included to enable the display to be installed such that the front of the unit has waterproofing and splash-proofing equivalent to the IP65 standard.
