Contec Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of PC peripherals, industrial computers, and network equipment, has developed and commenced sales of the "DIO-16/16(USB)" multi-point digital I/O module, "DI-32(USB)" digital input module, and "DO-32(USB)" digital output module in the company's "USB Module" range of PC measurement and control components.
| Product Name | Model |
| Opto-Isolated Digital I/O | DIO-16/16(USB) |
| Opto-Isolated Digital Input | DI-32(USB) |
| Opto-Isolated Digital Output | DO-32(USB) |
The [DIO-16/16(USB)] digital I/O module provides a maximum of 16 inputs and 16 outputs per module. The outputs are open-collector transistor outputs with photo-coupler isolation and a maximum drive current of 150mA (12 to 24V) or 50mA (36 to 48V) per output. The digital inputs also have photo-coupler isolation and incorporate a trigger monitor function that can be used to notify the host when a change in state (rising or falling edge) occurs.
The [DI-32(USB)] digital input module has photo-coupler isolation and a maximum of 32 inputs per module.
The [DO-32(USB)] digital output module has open-collector transistor outputs with photo-coupler isolation and a maximum of 32 outputs per module. The maximum drive current is 150mA (12 to 24V) or 50mA (36 to 48V) per output.

< USB Module Series >
The traditional method for implementing a measurement and control system on a PC has been to install a PCI board in the expansion slot of a desktop PC or a PC card in the PC card slot of a notebook PC. However, newer PCs have fewer available expansion slots and this often causes a problem when trying to configure a system. The USB Module series solves this problem by using USB as the interface to the PC, meaning that the modules can be connected to almost any PC. Also, the extremely compact size of the USB Module units means they do not take up space on the desktop. Because the modules can connect to any PC that supports USB, they are ideal for PCs with no bus expansion slots or on which all the available slots are already used, and can be connected to a desktop PC without having to open the case.
Installation on the PC is also very simple, and by using the supplied utility software you can quickly get started with signal input and output. The USB Module series support both Full Speed (12Mbps) and High Speed (480Mbps) communications. Communications runs at 480Mbps if the host controller supports USB 2.0 High Speed, providing high-speed data transfer and a faster response from the module compared to when Full Speed communications is used.

| [ Common Features ]
- Noise Resistance
Because it is isolated via opto-coupler, it enhanced the noise resistance features and will not be affected by the external electricity.
- Internal power supply/external power supply all can be used
- Bus Power (the power supply from PC)
It can be used by connecting only USB cable. External power supply is not required.
- Self Power (using AC adapter)
If you want to control the power consumption of the computer with battery, such as Note PC, you can use self-power to provide power for the module. (AC adapter option)
- Easy to wire
The system incorporates a screwless connector plug that allows you to easily attach and detach wires without using any special tools.
Press this section to insert the wire material
- Easy to extend input/output point
The system, in the module itself, incorporates a 35mm DIN rail mounting mechanism as a standard item, so it can be attached and detached easily.
- Easy to extend input/output point
By adding expansion modules sold separately, the number of input/output points can be increased.
It adopts the unique configuration of stack connecting which permits a simple, smart system configuration.
- DI-32(USB) + DI-32(FIT)GY x 3 (up to 128 points input)
- DO-32(USB) + DO-32(FIT)GY x 3 (up to 128 points output)
- DIO-16/16(USB) + DIO-16/16(FIT)GY x 3 (up to 64 points input and 64 points output)
- Easy-to-develop-application Sample Program
Visual Basic, Visual C++, Delphi and C++ Builder sample programs have been prepared.
Functions convenient for developing generic applications, such as the functions that acquire the list of the current available USB modules, are prepared.
- Easy-to-debug Utilities
- Data Monitor
Without programming, the user can easily operate the USB module. The current status can be verified by the indicator. The output value can be set by mouse-clicking on a switch only.
- Diagnostic Program
Perform file version check and save running result of basic operation to a file. When the problem occurred, it will be helpful to solving the problem.

| [ Features of the DIO-16/16(USB) and DI-32(USB) Inputs ]
- Installed Trigger Monitor Function
Trigger monitor function notifies the computer if the status has changed.(rise or fall)
Because the monitor function was installed in the USB module, it will not be affected by the other programs, and it will not increase the load of the computer. It can monitor the signal changes at intervals of milliseconds.
|
| [ Features of the DIO-16/16(USB) and DO-32(USB) Outputs ]
- Digital Output
Transistor output enabling current drive of a maximum of 150mA at 24 VDC or 50mA at 48VDC per channel. Directly drive LED display.
