Three New Types of Bus-Isolated Low-Profile PCI Boards
Added to the L Series of Low-Cost Analog I/O Devices

|
CONTEC Co., Ltd., a comprehensive manufacturer of PC peripherals, industrial computers, and network equipment, has developed and commenced sales of three new types of low-profile PCI boards improved in noise immunity by bus insulation, as additions to the "Low-Cost, Multifunction L Series." The L Series has been well received as a line of multifunction but low-cost analog I/O device products.
| Product Name | Type | Model Name | |
Low-cost and high-precision types of Isolated analog I/O boards for low-profile PCI slots | Analog inputs: 8ch Analog outputs: 2ch | ADAI16-8/2(LPCI)L |
| Analog inputs: 16ch | ADI16-16(LPCI)L |
| Analog inputs: 4ch | DAI16-4(LPCI)L |
The three new products support low-profile PCI slots suitable for space-saving PCs. These models contain a digital isolator to electrically Isolate the external I/O interface circuit while inheriting the features of conventional products (low-cost, multifunction L Series) well received by offering advanced functionality with a mixture of high-precision 16-bit analog I/O, inputs, and outputs as well as digital I/O and counters at low costs. The new models provide higher noise immunity than conventional ones, featuring lower risk of directly affecting the PC itself even when the external wiring has abnormal surges or noise.
[ About the Low-Cost Multifunction L Series ]
The L Series is a line of multifunction but low-cost analog I/O device products with high-precision 16-bit analog I/O and digital I/O functions (four signals each) as well as a counter function (one 32-bit channel). This series consists of a total of seven models depending on the numbers of analog I/O channels, bus insulation or not, and a variety of bus specifications. The analog I/O channels can input/output signals either at fixed intervals based on an internal timer or in synchronization with external signals. The L Series also contains buffer memory, supporting level comparative triggering and delay sampling. Low-profile PCI boards are also be available in standard PCI slots by replacing their brackets.

[ Features ]
- Rich set of basic functions
Compact system providing high-precision analog inputs/outputs.
A series of three models selectable to meet the application.
< ADAI16-8/2(LPCI)L > is a control single of analog input(16bits, 8ch), analog output(16bits, 2ch), analog I/O.
< ADI16-16(LPCI)L > is a control signal(3 points) of analog input(16bits, 16ch), analog input.
< DAI16-4(LPCI)L > is a control signal(3 points) of analog output(16bits, 4ch), analog output.
Digital inputs (four channels), digital outputs (four channels), and a counter (32-bit one channel) common to the three models.
- Isolation from external devices
Noise tolerance is enhanced by isolating the PC and external I/O circuits with digital isolators.
- Substantial control functions
Capable of analog input/output in either time-based mode or external-signal synchronous mode.
- Filter function facilitating external signal connection
Digital filters provided for external control analog I/O signals, preventing chattering
- Buffer memory
The analog inputs and outputs each have their own buffer memory.
You can also perform analog input and output in the background, independent of software and the current status of the PC.
- Software-based calibration
Setting and calibrating the analog input and output can be performed completely by software.
No tricky jumper settings are required. You can also set your own calibration data in place of the default data set at the factory and use different calibration data depending on the operating conditions.
- Exchangeable low-profile and standard PCI slots
Support for both of low-profile and standard PCI slots (interchangeable with a bundled bracket).
