CONTEC Co., Ltd., a comprehensive manufacturer of PC peripherals, industrial computers, and network equipment, has developed and commenced sales of a DIN rain mounted type of small 8-port switching hub "Model SH-8008(FIT)H."
The SH-8008(FIT)H is an extremely small and lightweight 8-port switching hub providing auto-negotiation for all of its eight ports so that they can automatically recognize 10/100 Mbps and half/full-duplex transmission. The SH-8008(FIT)H has the Auto-MDI/MDI-X auto-switching feature to automatically distinguish between straight and cross cables. This eliminates the need for switching the cascade connection between hubs and considering the use of a cross cable in between, thereby improving maintainability.
As the SH-8008(FIT)H is designed compact with an external width of 52.4 mm, it can be installed even in a panel or equipment which does not have enough space to accommodate a general hub. The SH-8008(FIT)H is equipped with a 35-mm DIN rail mount mechanism. The power supply system of the SH-8008(FIT)H supports a wide input range from 5 to 24 VDC, so that it can be powered from the host equipment without using a dedicated external power supply unit, proving to be suitable for embedded applications.
Unlike the conventional product "Model SH-8008(FIT)GY," this model provides the AutoMDI/MDI-X feature for all of the eight ports. As it is capable of automatically distinguishing between straight and cross cables, you do not have to consider the difference between cable types. The SH-8008(FIT)H contains a 5-24 VDC, wide input power supply, offering high environmental resistance as well. Since this product is common in design with the F&eIT series of Ethernet-based remote I/O systems, it is also recommended as the hub unit for constructing the network for such a system.

[ Features ]
- The Switching HUB Unit's auto-negotiation feature automatically recognizes communication rates and communication methods, thus permits a connection to devices such as F&eIT series controller modules and I/O Assist Server unit . It also provides eight AutoMDI/MDI-X ports.
- Similar to other F&eIT series products, the system, in the unit itself, incorporates a 35-mm DIN rail mounting mechanism as a standard item.
- Equipped with FG pin for power supply connector.
