New Release of Three Models of PCI-compliant Digital I/O Boards
Designed for Lead-free Systems
|
|
|
CONTEC Co., Ltd., a comprehensive manufacturer of PC peripherals, industrial computers, and network equipment, has developed and commenced sales of new models of PCI-compliant digital I/O boards designed to support environment-sensitive lead-free systems while maintaining compatibility with conventional products, as new products of PC measurement control components.
| Product Name |
Model Name |
| 64 Channel Opto-isolated High-speed Digital I/O Board |
PIO-32/32F(PCI)H |
| 32 Channel Opto-isolated TTL-Level Digital I/O Board |
PIO-16/16TB(PCI)H |
| 32 Channel TTL-Level Digital I/O Board |
PIO-16/16T(PCI)H |
The three new models, PIO-32/32F(PCI)H, PIO-16/16TB(PCI)H, and PIO-16/16T(PCI)H, are designed as environment-sensitive products satisfying a JEITA lead-free level of Phase 2 and reducing the power consumption while maintaining compatibility with their respective conventional products (no "H" at the end of the model name) in external wiring connector shape and signal pin assignment. On those systems which use conventional models, therefore, these new ones can use the external device connection cable and terminal strip as they are without modification.
In terms of functionality, the new models have been partly improved and reviewed from conventional ones. The interrupt input function has been enhanced so that the applicable range covers all input channels, and the digital filter function to minimize malfunctions caused by noise has been reviewed. The PIO-32/32F(PCI)H has been enhanced in safety, for example, by incorporating a Zener diode for surge voltage protection and a PolySwitch for overvoltage protection into the output circuit.
The three new models are PC-oriented interface boards for PCI-bus compliant measurement control systems, which can output digital (ON/OFF) signals and input digital signals from external devices.
The PIO-32/32F(PCI)H supports 12 to 24 VDC circuits. The board can input and output 32-channel signals. It is a high-speed type with a fast optocoupler providing a response time of 5 microseconds.
The PIO-16/16TB(PCI)H supports 5VDC-TTL level circuits. The board enables 16-channel isolated input and 16-channel isolated output. It has a fast optocoupler providing a response time of 1 microsecond.
The PIO-16/16T(PCI)H supports 5VDC-TTL level circuits. The board enables 16-channel TTL-level input and 16-channel TTL-level output. It is a non-isolated high-speed response time of 200 nanoseconds.
The three new models come standard with the Windows and Linux versions of driver software [package type: API-PAC(W32)]. You can therefore create application programs either in Visual Basic or Visual C++ using the Windows version or in various programming languages such as gcc using the Linux version.

This driver is used to control CONTEC digital I/O boards (cards) from within Linux.
You can control CONTEC I/O boards easily using the shared library called from the user application, the device driver (module) for kernel version, and the board (card) configuration program (config).
< Support Software (Free download) >
- Data acquisition VI library for LabVIEW VI-DAQ
This is a VI library to use in National Instruments LabVIEW.
VI-DAQ is created with a function form similar to that of LabVIEW's Data Acquisition VI, allowing you to use various devices without complicated settings.
CONTEC provides download services to supply the updated drivers and differential files.(http://www.contec.com/vidaq/)
