CONTEC Co., Ltd., a comprehensive manufacturer of PC peripherals, industrial computers, and network equipment, has the PCI bus expansion unit series deployed in the marketplace as a line of products for adding PCI slots to PCs. CONTEC has now developed new related products of PCI slot expansion chassis with multiple slots (7- and 13-slot types available) supporting short-size PCI boards and commences their sales in four models named "PCI Bus Expansion Chassis" from March, 28 (scheduled). The new models provide a wider variety of combinations of PCI bus expansion chassis.

The new products "ECH(PCI)BE-H7A and ECH(PCI)BE-H13A" are bus extension types of PCI bus expansion chassis for installing up to 7 and 13 additional short-size PCI boards, respectively. You can connect these models to your PC using a bus extension type of bus expansion adapter (separately priced) and a dedicated cable (1-meter cable coming standard with the bus expansion adapter). These are suitable when you want a PCI bus expansion chassis to be placed near the system unit of your PC.
The new products "ECH(PCI)SF-H7A and ECH(PCI)SF-H13A" are StarFabric-compliant types of PCI bus expansion chassis for installing up to 7 and 13 additional short-size PCI boards, respectively. You can connect these models to your PC using a StarFabric-compliant type of bus expansion adapter (separately priced) and a category-5e cable (12-meter STP cable coming standard with the bus expansion adapter). These PCI bus expansion chassis can be placed to accommodate PCI boards, up to 12 meters away from your PC. Another major feature of these models is that the expansion chassis can be turned on and off in conjunction with the PC only by wiring them with a LAN cable.
