December 25, 2006 - CONTEC, a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment, industrial computers and network devices, today announced the release of its new PCI bus motion controllers featuring linear/circular interpolation and a motion frame memory function. These boards, SMC-4DF-PCI (four axis type) and SMC-8DF-PCI (eight axis type), are CONTEC’s newest additions to their line of PC-based measurement and control products.
The SMC-4DF-PCI (4 axis) and SMC-8DF-PCI (8 axis) control stepper and servo motors (pulse input). These products feature linear/circular interpolation and are capable of storing positioning frames making them ideal for semiconductor manufacturing or testing devices.
CONTEC’s SMC-4DF-PCI and SMC-8DF-PCI were designed around Nippon Pulse Motor Co., LTD’s Pulse Control LSI PCL6100 Series Features of these boards include positioning, origin returning, linear/circular interpolation, S-curve accelerating/decelerating, continuous frame motion and synchronization control. In addition speed and target location are changeable even while the device is working. These new boards have up to 6.5Mpps motor control pulse output. The order pulse supports common pulse, independent pulse and 90-degree phase difference pulse. The SMC-4DF-PCI and SMC-8DF-PCI also feature 3 limit inputs, 7 general-purpose inputs and 3 general-purpose outputs. Via software setting, 6 general-purpose inputs can be used for alarm input and a general-purpose output for counter clear in order to meet the user's performance requirements.
CONTEC’s SMC-4DF-PCI and SMC-8DF-PCI are lead-free (exceeding JEITA Phase 2 requirements) and are RoHS-compliant.
