February 19, 2007 - CONTEC, a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment, industrial computers and network devices, today announced the release of its new 800MHz Celeron M® Fan-less Box Computers, featuring extended operating temperatures (-20º to 60º C), and built to withstand up to 5Gs of shock and 100Gs of vibration. These new computers, IPC-BX800-DC400 and, IPC-BX800-DC456 are CONTEC’s newest additions to their line of Box computers.
CONTEC currently offers three major types of Box Computers; the mainstream 620/630/700 series, the ultra-compact 360 and the high performance 720 which features a high-power CPU and unique duct cooling system to deliver high cooling efficiency. The new 800 computers will become the newest and most innovative member of the mainstream series offering true fan-less operation under severe operating conditions.
Utilizing an Intel® Celeron M® processor 800MHZ and PC2100 DDR SDRAM, CONTEC’s latest embedded computers are built for long term availability and reliability. These systems are guaranteed to provide stable operation, withstanding temperature from -20º to 60ºC and up to 5G of shock / 100G of vibration.
In order to provide tolerance to temperatures from -20º to 60ºC, these systems feature an aluminum heat-sink which allows heat to radiate away from the internal circuitry even when the outside temperature is high. They are also equipped with a sensor-controlled internal heater that guarantees a maximum one minute boot at temperatures down to -20ºC. This heater maintains the system’s temperature providing safe operation even if the ambient room temperature is less that 0ºC. If there are problems with power voltage or temperature, these system automatically shut down with user's setting.
The IPC-BX800 Series of Box-PCs feature a wide variety of interfaces, including two USB 2.0 ports, three RS-232C ports and 100BASE-TX LAN. They have analog RGB and LVDS video interfaces providing dual view capability. All interfaces are located on the front panel for ease of operation and hold-down clamps are included for the USB and/or LINEOUT cables.
CONTEC’s IPC-BX800-DC400 and IPC-BX800-DC456 are lead-free (exceeding JEITA Phase 2 requirements) and are RoHS-compliant.
