October 3, 2007 - CONTEC, a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment, industrial computers and network devices, today announced the release of its new Fan-less Box Computers, Box computer 840 series featuring small dimensions and expansion capability.

These new products are designed to meet their customer's needs of small-sized embedded computers with expansion capability. Even though the small physical dimensions - 251(w) x 152(D) x 56(H) mm, these new products contain low power-consumption, high-performance Celeron M processor, 852GM chipset and 512 MB memory. Windows XP Embedded OS provides stable operation of applications. Box computer 840 series also feature an aluminum heat-sink which allows heat to radiate away for fan-less efficient operation. Also the storage device CF card (bootable) provides long term reliability and quietness.

In addition to wide variety of interfaces including two USB 2.0 ports, three RS-232C ports, 100BASE-TX LAN and audio, the IPC-BX840 series feature analog RGB and LVDS video interfaces providing dual view capability. All interfaces are located on the front panel for ease of operation and hold-down clamps are included for the USB and/or LINEOUT cables. These systems are also guaranteed to provide stable operation, withstanding up to 5G of shock / 100G of vibration.
