Q What is supported OS?
A It corresponds to the following OS. In addition, Some Models are supported different OS.

In addition, When Windows XP/2000 is used, installation of a driver is required for initial setting.

Q Please show me validated PC.
A There is a validated PC list which checked normal recognition by our company.

Q What kind of PC is available?
A It can be used with the PC which has PC-Card slot dealing with Standard CardBus.

However, it may be unable to be used according to the maker and model of the CardBus controller in PC.
We have recommended PC which uses the CardBus controller of Texas Instruments and O2Micro based on our function test result.
In addition, the maker and model of a CardBus controller are confirmed from property of PCMCIA adapter on device manager. Or Please ask a PC maker.

Q Is there any board which cannot be used?
A You can't use the following board.

  • Video Board(VGA Board)
  • Boards with the boot function of strage (SCSI host board, IDE (ATAPI) host board, RAID board and etc.)
  • Bus adapter boards (PCI bus extension unit FA-PAC (PCI) series etc.)
  • The board it is supposed that cannot be used by PCI-to-PCI Bridge
*Depending on the specification of a board, it may be unable to be used except the above.

Q Is there any restriction relevant to the I/O Address and the memory address?
A The total of an I/O Address and The total of a memory address have the limitation. Moreover, it changes also with OS's.
  • Windows XP and Windows 2000
    I/O Address: Less than 768 bytes    Memory address: Less than 1 M byte

  • Windows Me, 98SE, 98
    I/O Address: Less than 4 K bytes     Memory address: Less than 1 M byte

Q Operation speed of the board in comparison with using it with a Desktop PC?
A As for the board which performs high-speed transfer like a bus master transfer, transfer speed may become slow. This is because the NOTE-PAC is carrying out bus extension by PCI-to-PCI Bridge.
Moreover, transfer speed changes also with throughput of a system configuration or a PC.

A Change of software is not required.
