Contec Co., Ltd. (listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Securities Code: 6639—hereinafter "Contec") has developed BX-T1000 series of Fanless embedded computer with Intel® fanless Core i7 CPU and 4K supported graphic controller for IoT edge computing market, and start shipping as of 8 May, 2018.
Embedded computer BX-T1000 series
New product, BX-T1000 series (hereinafter BX-T1000) is fanless embedded computer with dual core 7th generation Intel® Core i7 processor for various industrial applications. It features not only high performance and power saving, but also rich interfaces and achieves natural cooling (fanless system).
It is equipped with versatile interfaces such as Dual-LAN, USB3.0, DisplayPort, DVI-D, RS-232C and slot-in type 2.5-inch SATA disk drive bays. BX-T1000 with big capacity storage and 4K graphics controller will be ideal solution for IoT edge server and digital signage application which require high resolution.
As a result of adopting embedded-type CPU, it becomes possible to keep procuring components stably and to increase reliability for our customers to use it for long term period. And also, Contec-customized BIOS makes it possible to provide technical support about BIOS level.
It is equipped with DisplayPort and supports 4K graphics resolution of 3,840x2,160 (16,770,000 colors) which is two times precise than full HD (1,920x1,080). For applications which requires to have larger screen such as digital signage and image processing applications, it would be possible to display very comfortably.
Core i7-7600U has been adopted. It saves power consumption and also provides high computing and graphic performances. Embedded-type CPU makes the stable supply possible.
The product is fanless to ensure a totally spindleless design that simplifies maintenance, relieving the concern about dust or foreign matter to get into the product. Moreover, along with minimized use of degrading parts greatly reduce maintenance work.
BX-T1000 has various interfaces such as DVI-D x 1, DisplayPort×1, 1000BASE-T x 2, USB3.0 x 4, USB2.0 x 2, and serial (RS-232C) x 2. It has two slot-in type 2.5-inch SATA disk drive bays, providing the ability to separate data from the operating system, as well as the convenience of being able to use one slot for system startup and the other for maintenance or for taking home system logs or collected data.
For Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 2016 installed model, it is possible to use the UWF(*1) function which is unique feature of the OS. It is designed for safety required for embedding purpose, for example, prohibiting undesired writing to system drive of HDD or SSD with UWF function will relieve the concern about the writing limits to the HDD or SSD and prevent an unintentional system alteration.
