Corporate History

1975
  • Established CONTEC CO., LTD. With JPY5 million in capital.
1979
  • Opened the Tokyo Office (currently, the Tokyo Branch).
1981
  • Started technological exchange with China
1982
  • Developed and launched an interface board for NEC PCs.
1985
  • Developed and launched LAN board for PCs.
1986
  • Established Contec Microelectronics U.S.A. Inc. in the United States.
1987
  • Established Beijing Contec Microelectronics Co., Ltd., in Beijing, China.
1988
  • Developed and launched an NEC PC 98 bus-compatible board computer.
1991
  • Merged with Paltec Co., Ltd.
1993
  • Developed and launched the IPC Series of industrial PCs.
1994
  • Developed and launched a photovoltaic performance measurement and display system.
1995
  • Obtained ISO 9001 certification.
1999
  • Developed wireless LAN system.
2002
  • Obtained ISO 14001 certification.
2004
  • Established CONTEC EMS CO., LTD. (with JPY250 million in capital).
  • Developed and launched power monitoring system.
2006
  • Established TAIWAN CONTEC CO., LTD. in Taipei, Taiwan.
2007
  • Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.Increased capital to JPY1,119 million.
2009
  • Established sales subsidiary CONTEC (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. in Shanghai, China.
2012
  • CONTEC SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CO., LTD. (formerly Daifuku Software Development Co., Ltd.) joined the Contec Group.
  • Acquired shares of CONTEC AMERICAS INC. (formerly DTx Inc.), headquartered in Florida, the United States, and converted the company to a Contec subsidiary.
2013
  • Established SINGAPORE CONTEC PTE. LTD. in Singapore.
2014
  • Concluded sales agreements with three companies in Europe: PLUG-IN, ADM21 and Elcam.
2015
  • Merged with CONTEC EMS CO., LTD.
  • Developed and launched the CONPROSYS Series of products for the IoT market.
  • Concluded sales agreements with two companies in Europe: Diamond Point International and RAULIA.
2016
  • Amsterdam Branch opened in Netherlands.
  • Korea Liaison Office opened in South Korea.
2017
  • Merged with CONTEC SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CO., LTD.
2020
  • India Liaison Office opened in India.
2021
  • Korea Branch opened in South Korea.
2022
  • Delisted from the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
  • Reduced the capital stock of the company to 450 million yen.
  • Becoming a wholly-owned company by Daifuku Co., Ltd.
