What is Modbus?
Modbus is a serial communication protocol that was developed by the company Modicon in 1979 for its programmable logic controllers (PLC). It became the de-facto standard communication protocol for the industrial world and is currently the most widely used means of connecting industrial electronic devices.
What is IO-Link?
IO-Link is a technology that was standardized in international standard IEC 61131-9 as a method of establishing a communication connection between a controller and a sensor or actuator. As a sensor-level open network, it is expected to bring advances that will lead to reduced down time in the manufacturing industry.
