New Product Release: EPC-2020 Series Windows PC That Supports ICT in the Medical and Nursing Care Fields

Compact PC ideal for X-rays, electronic medical record browsing, medical accounting, and medical prescription operations

CONTEC Co., Ltd. (listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Securities Code: 6639) has newly developed a Windows PC adapted to the usage environment and needs particular to the medical and nursing care industries. It has started receiving orders for the EPC-2020 Series PC from February 4, 2014.

EPC-2020 Windows PC for medical use

The new EPC-2020 Series Windows PC for medical use is best suited for X-rays, electronic medical record browsing, medical accounting, and medical prescription operations. The EPC-2020 Series features the extensive scalability of a desktop PC while boasting a compact design that does not get in the way even when placed on a desk. Moreover, since quiet cooling fans are used, noises that may interfere with medical examinations are limited. In addition, long-life and highly reliable components permitting 24-hour operations are used, and long-term service of the same model is achieved through the use of embedded devices that include CPUs and chipsets guaranteed to be supplied for a long time.

The EPC-2020 Series is available as BTO (Build-To-Order). This allows you to select combinations of components that best suit the intended purposes and applications, such as models including graphic boards that can display DICOM images and dental CTs (3D X-rays), models that include a mirroring (RAID 1) function (storing data on two hard disks) to protect vast amounts of medical data, as well as models that feature low-cost CPUs and meant to be deployed in large numbers for medical accounting or ordering purposes. Moreover, because long-term service support is provided for the embedded device OS, the EPC-2020 Series can be used with peace of mind over the long term, conventional application software can be used, and PC migration can be performed smoothly.
