Technology has rapidly changed the face of health care, manufacturing, automation and security, just to name a few. Companies that span across all industries have worked tirelessly to meet this new demand. Finding the right system integrator has become a complexity that most organizations lack the resources to support. Seeking a partner who is innovative and trustworthy is the primary focus to support the demands technological advancements place on an organization.

To help OEMs keep up with the evolving landscape, two innovators, Art Schmitt and Gene Garofalo founded Contec. in Melbourne, FL in 1991. Contec (formerly an acronym for Digital Technology Exchange) originally functioned as an obsolete computer parts broker serving a wide range of OEMs. It did not take long for the Contec team to identify a common theme among their partners. "OEMs were being forced to shut down production lines and re-certify products due to parts obsolescence in the rapidly changing computer technology industry," says Gene Garofalo, Vice President of Business Development for Contec.

In 2004, as the company continued to grow, Contec recognized a need to develop a new solution for their own daily operations – this system is known as the Automated Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This state-of-the-art system distinguishes itself among competitors in the industry thanks to a tracking and testing protocol that checks to ensure products meet specifications down to the circuit. This opened the door to many more growth opportunities for the team.

Contec experienced significant progress between 2004 and 2012. During these years, the breadth of products and services offered to customers expanded dramatically. In 2006, Contec added to the ISO 9001 registration and achieved ISO 13485. In 2012, Contec was asked to join the Contec Group family of companies led by Contec of Osaka, Japan. Contec is known as a global market leader with an extensive line of Industrial PCs, Wireless Network, DAQ and Control & Measurement Solutions. As Contec integrated with Contec, being renamed as Contec., the organization began to focus on merging their products and services to improve overall quality and customer service. Through this strong partnership, Contec is now positioned as a global system integrator ready to support industrial applications and IoT solutions across multiple sectors.

Today, Contec continues to grow as a systems integrator, never losing focus on their defining characteristic: outstanding customer service. "We are really excited about the future. We've got some great opportunities in front of us. Technology is changing at a rapid pace, our customers are excited about doing new and different things and we've got a lot of innovation and innovative ideas that we can bring to the table to build the next 25 years. We are looking forward to a bright future", says Dan Butler, General Manager.
