Things are getting a little spooky around Contec as we wrap up our 3rd Annual Spooktacular Spirit Week! The last two years have been such a big success that we brought it back again. This is a time for employees to show off costumes and decorations, have a little fun, and get in the Halloween spirit.

“Spirit week provides a lot of fun and laughs and creates a more relaxed atmosphere around the office.”
–Barbra Dicioccio, HR Manager & Spooktacular Spirit Week Committee Member

Spooktacular Spirit Week 2016

The Spooktacular Spirit Week ran from October 24th – 31st. Each day consisted of a different theme for employees to dress up and participate in. To kick it off on Monday the 24th there was an office decoration contest. Employees were divided into groups and given an area to decorate, with the winning team being chosen at the end of the week.

The costume themes for the different days were:

Monday: Favorite Fall/Halloween colors and shirts
Tuesday: Disney Day
Wednesday: Western Wednesday (boots, buckles, and hats)
Thursday: Throwback Thursday (any era)
Friday: Superhero/Villain Day
Monday: Costume Contest

Throughout the week a picture was taken every day of those that participated in the day’s theme. There was also a daily trivia question somewhere around the office. Those that got it right had their name entered into a drawing for a 1 in 3 chance of winning a Dunkin Donuts gift card.

On Halloween Day, the last day of Spooktacular Spirit Week, there was a Grand Spooky Hour to conclude the weeklong festivities. Employees brought in their favorite Fall/Halloween snack or treat to share. While enjoying the treats the winner of the costume contest was crowned, as well as the winners of the office decoration contest. This week was exciting and enjoyed by all. We are excited to continue to build this Halloween tradition for years to come.
