Contec Co., Ltd. has developed eight models for its BX-U310 Series, an ultra-compact series of fanless embedded computers equipped with the Intel Atom® processor x6413E (Elkhart Lake). Contec began taking orders for this series on June 18, 2024.

This new product is a fanless embedded computer equipped with an Intel Atom® x6413E processor. Featuring an extremely compact design (110 × 80 × 45 mm (W × D × H)) that is the size of just two business cards, it is equipped with expansion interfaces to enable use with a wide range of applications.
Equipped with one HDMI port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and two LAN ports, the lineup also includes a model with wireless LAN, making it ideal for IoT gateway terminals and edge computers that connect IT networks and field networks.
In addition, it is equipped with many functions designed for industrial applications, such as a fanless design for use over a wide range of temperatures^*3 and the Power Failure Protection™ system^*4 for reliable operation without the need for shutdown.

Main Features

• Palm-sized ultra-compact PC

  At just 110 (W) × 80 (D) × 45 (H) mm, this ultra-compact PC is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. This product assists customers in miniaturizing their equipment without compromising design.

• Supports a wide range of temperatures with operations guaranteed from −10 to 60°C

  Stable operations of this product are possible over a wide range of temperatures from −10 to 60°C.^*3

• Power Failure Protection™ system for reliable operation with no OS shutdown required

  The Power Failure Protection™ system protects data and prohibits writing to storage in the event of a power failure.^*4
  When used together with the Windows IoT Enterprise lockdown (disk write suppression) feature, power can be safely turned off even without performing a shutdown process. This also helps prevent corruption of the file system and data due to sudden power loss.

• Security design contributing to a reliable system

  This product features TPM2.0 and secure boot security functions as well as Contec’s proprietary USB boot protection, and is designed with security required for industrial applications.

• Reductions in running costs and energy usage

  This product uses the x6413E low power consumption Intel Atom® processor platform to achieve low power consumption while still providing sufficient performance.

• Fanless design that reduces maintenance and inspection operations

  This product has no CPU fan and has a spindleless design. The product prevents dust and foreign materials from entering the system and reduces the use of components that deteriorate with age as much as possible, greatly reducing maintenance and inspection burdens.
