New Product Release: VPC-3200 Series High-Reliability, Long-Term Support, and Long-Term Supply Mainstay FA Computers with Support for 13th-Generation Intel Core Processors

Contec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Kazuyoshi Nishiyama) has developed the new VPC-3200 Series of high-performance FA computers capable of continuous 24-hour operation and compatible with 13th-generation Raptor Lake Intel® Core™ processors. This new series will be available to order from today.

The new VPC-3200 Series of factory automation (FA) industrial computers can carry out 24/7 operations, such as control of essential equipment or on manufacturing sites, and is the latest model in the VPC Series, which has been one of our customers’ preferred choices since its launch in 2009.
The Intel® Q670 chipset with fast, reliable DDR5 memory provides advanced computing and graphical performance.
While keeping the same external shape and compatibility as the previous VPC-3100 Series in addition to functional aspects such as support for three PCI cards, the VPC-3200 Series offers 2.9 times*3 higher processing speed to better support edge computing environments requiring advanced image processing and high-speed control.

This new series also offers improved maintainability with a new POST code indicator for easily checking the status of the PC. The screwless detachable front cover also enables easy access from the front of the unit to components with finite lifespans such as storage devices, cooling fans, and dust filters, making replacement easy and further improving the ease of maintenance.

This new series also comes equipped with a rich set of hardware RAS functions such as watchdog timer, remote reset, hardware monitor, and general-purpose digital I/O for enhanced reliability, and a hot-swappable mirroring (RAID1) configuration can also be selected for 24-hour continuous operation.

Available as BTO (built-to-order) models, the VPC-3200 Series allows customers to select the CPU, memory capacity, and other components to best suit the application of each computer.
Contec also plans to provide an aftercare on-site maintenance service (for a fee) that includes replacement of defective components for up to seven years.*4

Main Features

  • Intel® Core™ processor series Raptor Lake support

    Available with a power-saving, high-performance 12th-generation Intel® Celeron processor or 13th-generation Intel® Core™ processor for advanced computation and drawing performance while minimizing power consumption. Reliable supply is ensured by the adoption of embedded CPUs.

  • CPU built-in high-definition graphics

    Smoothly plays even full-HD videos thanks to an Intel® UHD Graphics 770/730/710 integrated graphics processor. Full-HD output to three displays is also supported using the DVI-I, DisplayPort, and HDMI interfaces.

  • Removable storage

    This product uses a 3.5-inch SATA storage device, which is accessible from the front of the product, and also supports mirroring (RAID1).

  • Rich variety of interfaces for convenient peripheral expansion

    Equipped with expandable interfaces including a DVI-I port, HDMI port, DisplayPort, two 2.5GBASE-T ports, one 1000Base-T port, six USB 3.2 Gen 2 (USB 3.1) ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) ports, five serial ports (one RS-232C/RS-422A/RS-485 port and four RS-232C ports), and an audio port.

  • Available with expansion slots that can house 4 PCI-Express and PCI cards

    Expansion slot options include one PCI-Express (x16) slot, two PCI-Express (x4) slots, and one PCI slots.

  • Physical dimensions and mounting specifications compatible with the conventional VPC-3100 Series

    To make replacement of conventional VPC-3100 Series models easier, the physical dimensions have been kept the same.
