The FLEXLAN FX5000 Series of wireless LAN access point devices are compliant with the new Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax) wireless LAN standard, and the adoption of new OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access), MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO), and Spatial Reuse technologies allow for 1.2 times faster communication speeds compared with previous Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) products. Throughput degradation and delays common when using numerous slave stations at once have also been significantly reduced. Moreover, in addition to the existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, these new products can also be used in the 6 GHz(*1) band for reduced radio interference, creating a faster and more stable communication environment.
When exporting or manufacturing and selling devices with wireless LAN overseas, companies must obtain and display wireless certification as necessary for the target country, and selecting, verifying operation, and managing the procurement of wireless LAN units for each export destination can be incredibly costly. FLEXLAN FX5000 Series products, however, are already certified for wireless use in many countries around the world. Introducing wireless LAN units into the FLEXLAN FX5000 Series leads to major reductions in development and operation costs.
Main Features
- High-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax) communication
With data transmission and reception speeds reaching over 1 Gbps, effective throughput is significantly faster than Wi-Fi 5’s 800 Mbps (1.2 times faster). Adoption of new technologies such as OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) and MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO) have also helped significantly reduce throughput degradation and delays common when using numerous slave stations at once. Moreover, in addition to the existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, these new products can also be used in the 6 GHz(*1) band for reduced radio interference, creating a faster and more stable communication environment.
- Usable as stations (slave stations), access points (master stations), or repeaters (relay stations)
By switching the operation mode, these products can be used as not only stations (slave stations) but also as access points (master stations) or repeaters (relay stations). The dual station function also allows for simultaneous use through 5 GHz/6 GHz (*1)and 2.4 GHz interfaces.
- Featuring WSL proprietary encryption technology usable in combination with WPA3, WPA2, WPA, and WEP
In addition to certifications for advanced WPA3/WPA2/WPA and IEEE802.1X security standards, these products are also equipped with Contec’s proprietary “WSL” encryption technology, which can be used at the same time. MAC address filtering and ESSID hiding are also supported.
- Wide variety of functions, including VLAN and virtual AP
These products are equipped with VLAN functionality (*2) for constructing virtual networks, and virtual AP functionality for operating one AP as multiple virtual APs with different security settings. Saving of large-capacity event logs is also possible.
