Contec Co., Ltd. has expanded its lineup of BX-M4600 Series high-performance fanless embedded BOX Computers with new models featuring four expansion slots. Contec began taking orders for the new models today.

The new products are the top-of-the-line high-performance BX-M4600 Series models in the fanless BOX Computer BX Series, featuring 12th/13th-generation Intel® Core™ processors (Alder Lake-S/Raptor Lake-S)—high-power CPUs for desktop PCs—and are equipped with four expansion slots (one PCI Express (x8) slot and three PCI slots).
Compared with the current BX-M1000 Series, which also offers four expansion slots, these new models offer up to 13 times better CPU performance.*3

The new products boast a rich array of interfaces—including one DVI-I port, one DisplayPort, two 2.5GBASE-T ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 (USB 3.1) ports, two USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports (one switchable to RS-422A/485), and one DIO port—enabling versatile connectivity for a wide range of embedded applications.
Two slot-in 2.5-inch SATA disk slots also allow flexible configuration, such as when separating OS and data drives for enhanced reliability and maintenance.

These new models are ideal not only for legacy system migration but also for demanding embedded applications such as inspection systems using measurement control cards, transportation, infrastructure, medical equipment, security, and amusement systems requiring high-level multitasking.

  • 13th-generation Core i7/i5/i3 and 12th-generation Celeron processors

    The BX-M4600P4 Series is equipped with power-saving and high-performance CPUs, providing advanced computing and graphical performance even with minimal power requirements. Reliable supply is ensured by the adoption of embedded CPUs.

  • Built-in PCI Express and PCI bus expansion slots

    The new models feature one PCI Express (x8) slot and three PCI slots.

  • Power Failure Protection™ system for reliable operation with no OS shutdown required

    The Power Failure Protection™ system protects data and prohibits writing to storage in the event of a power failure. When used together with the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise lockdown (disk write suppression) feature, power can be safely turned off even without performing a shutdown process. This also helps prevent corruption of the file system and data due to sudden power loss.

  • Convenient utilities based on Contec’s originally designed BIOS

    The products are equipped with utilities*4 based on Contec’s original and convenient BIOS.

  • Fanless design that reduces maintenance and inspection operations

    By adopting a spindleless design with no CPU fan, this series prevents dust and foreign materials from entering the system and reduces the use of components that deteriorate with age as much as possible, greatly reducing maintenance and inspection burdens.

  • Rich variety of interfaces for freely expandable peripherals

    Equipped with an expandable interface including DVI-I×1、DisplayPort×1、2.5GBASE-T×2、USB 3.2 Gen2 (USB 3.1)×4、USB 2.0×2、Serial port(RS-232C)×4 (1 port can be switched to RS-422A/485)、DIO×1.

  • Removal prevention fittings and securing cable ties to prevent problems caused by cable disconnections

    The securing cable ties help prevent disconnections of USB cables and other connectors that are not equipped with locking mechanisms, making it possible to prevent problems from occurring.
