CONTEC proudly announces the launch of the BX‑M5600 Series, the latest addition to its BX‑M series of fanless embedded box computers. Designed to meet the growing demand for edge AI computing, the BX‑M5600 supports Intel® Core™ Ultra 3 / 5 / 7 Processors (Series 1) — formerly known as Meteor Lake — with 15W and 45W TDP options, delivering an optimal balance of performance, power efficiency, and thermal reliability.

The BX‑M5600 Series is engineered to enable advanced AI workloads at the edge. Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors with an integrated AI NPU, the system accelerates inference tasks while maintaining low power consumption — ideal for long‑term, always‑on industrial deployments.
In a first‑ever design for CONTEC box computers, the BX‑M5600 introduces E1.S enterprise‑grade storage support. Alongside traditional M.2 Key M 2280 NVMe, the dual removable storage bays, offering superior thermal characteristics and improved reliability for continuous, high‑load operation. This innovative storage architecture enables secure OS and data separation while enhancing system longevity.
- Dedicated AI NPU for Efficient Edge AI Inference
Powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra Processors (Series 1), the BX-M5600 integrates a dedicated AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU) designed specifically for AI inference workloads.
Unlike traditional CPU or GPU-based AI processing, the built-in NPU enables energy-efficient, low-latency AI execution, making it ideal for fanless and always-on edge systems.
By offloading AI inference tasks to the NPU, the BX-M5600 allows the CPU and GPU to focus on system control, visualization, and data processing — improving overall system responsiveness, thermal stability, and long-term reliability.
