Africa、Asia、Europe、Japan、Middle East、North America、Oceania、Latin America
The certificates used for Windows Secure Boot will expire on June 25, 2026.
Depending on the configuration environment used by some customers, security functions may be affected. Customers using the applicable products are therefore requested to check their settings and take the necessary action.
Issue
The certificates used for Windows Secure Boot will expire on June 25, 2026.*1
Windows will continue to boot and operate normally even if an expired certificate is used. However, Secure Boot verification may no longer be performed correctly in the future.
Checking whether action is required
Under standard factory settings, Contec products are shipped with Secure Boot not in use. Therefore, if the product is being used with the standard settings unchanged, there is no impact and no action is required.
[Factory default settings]
- ① : The BIOS [Secure Boot] setting is [Disabled], and certificates are installed.
- ② : The BIOS [Secure Boot] setting is [Enabled], but certificates are not installed.
Action is required if the product falls under item ① above and the [Secure Boot] setting has been changed to [Enabled].*2
Action/procedure
Please update the signature information in the BIOS and OS by June 25, 2026. For the update procedure, please use the BIOS Update Tool, which is scheduled to be provided on the Contec website.*3
