Contec has updated its FLEX HELPER centralized management software for the FLEXLAN FX Series, making it easier and more convenient to use.
FLEX HELPER is software for centrally managing access points on a network. Users can configure access points, check device status, update firmware, write and save various configuration files, reboot devices, and perform other operations, all from a single terminal.
Key updates and software overview
- Dashboard with consolidated device status information for more efficient day-to-day monitoring
In addition to device configuration information, the dashboard displays status information such as such as the number of logged-in devices, channel utilization and RSSI in graphical form. The graphs displayed vary depending on the supported model and the device's operating mode.
This allows users to view the operation status of individual devices and the overall status of the network at a glance on a single screen.
- Topology map that visualizes connections for an intuitive understanding of the network
The topology map allows users to place devices on a map and visually check wireless connection status and the number of connected devices. Clicking a station highlights its connection destination in color, enabling users to intuitively understand the connection between the station and its access point.
- Chronological visualization of roaming history to help identify the causes of network issues
The roaming history function allows users to view past connection status in graphical form and reproduce the connection status of a selected station at a specified point in time on the topology map. An automatic playback function also makes it possible to review changes in connection status over time, helping users analyze the causes of communication issues and optimize wireless networks.
- Device availability monitoring and email notifications to support early detection of abnormalities and recovery
FLEX HELPER monitors FLEXLAN FX Series devices. If an abnormality such as a device failure or a communication error occurs on a device detected through a search, the software displays the condition as an error on the screen. Administrators can also be notified of abnormalities by email. Rogue access point detection is also supported, helping ensure stable network operation.
