Contec has developed the PT-V15WB Series of fanless industrial panel computers with an integrated touchscreen and Intel® quad-core CPU (Apollo Lake) compatible with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Sales of these new products started on May 25, 2021.

The new PT-V15WB Series features Intel Atom E3940 quad-core CPUs to achieve fanless and spindleless VESA-mount computers with touch panel displays for industrial applications.

The increased use of tablets and notebook PCs in recent years has brought about a greater need for smooth touchscreen operations and multi-touch operations in industrial and business equipment (including point-of-sale terminals, ordering terminals, and equipment operation terminals).

Contec’s new PT-V15WB Series offers smooth touch operability similar to tablets in addition to long-term stable supply and robustness—the hallmarks of industrial PCs. These new products can be used in a variety of industrial applications—from controllers for corporate equipment to HMI terminals, printers, manufacturing equipment, pharmaceutical equipment, and reception counter terminals—and reduce the amount of installation space required.

Main Features

• Adopting PCAP multi-touch screen enabling smooth touch operation

  The PT-V15 Series uses a projected capacitive (PCAP) touch screen that enables 10-point multi-touch operations to create a beautiful display with smooth operability. The panel offers excellent scratch resistance and clarity.

• AC adapter and terminal block power inputs available

  The computers can accept 12 to 24 VDC power supplied from an AC adapter (via the DC jack) or via the detachable terminal blocks. This enables use in both office automation (with commercial power supplies) and factory automation (with internal equipment/control panel power supplies) environments.

• VESA standard support ^*3

  Conforming to the VESA standard (75×75), the product screen angle can be flexibly set on the various types of arms or stands.

• Compact size and small footprint

  Equipped with only the necessary interfaces (three USB 3.2 Gen1 (USB 3.0) ports, two LAN ports, one audio port, and one DisplayPort), these compact products require less installation space than conventional panel computers.

• Power Failure Protection system for reliable operation with no OS shutdown required

  The Power Failure Protection function protects data and prohibits writing to storage in the event of a power failure. When used together with the Windows IoT Enterprise lockdown (disk write suppression) feature, power can be safely turned off even without performing a shutdown process. This also helps prevent corruption of the file system and data due to sudden power loss.

• Wireless communication with various devices by Wireless LAN and Bluetooth

  Wireless LAN model (PT-V15WB-200R ^*4 ) in compliant with Bluetooth 4.2 and IEEE 802.11ac/a/b/g/n is ready. It is ideal solution for IoT gateway and edge computing, as it can be connected with various network devices.
