Contec has developed and begun sales of new Ethernet N Series devices for measurement control via an Ethernet connection—the DIO-1616RYN-ETH, the CNT-3204IN-ETH, the AI-1608VIN-ETH, the AI-1608AIN-ETH, the AO-1604VIN-ETH, and the AO-1604AIN-ETH.

All new products offer similar buffer capacity and support for sampling-based input and output (analog I/O units). As with Contec’s USB N Series products and PCI Express cards, these products enable remote measurement control over Ethernet.
In addition to the DIO-1616LN-ETH, these new products bring the Ethernet N Series lineup to a total of seven different models.
The product includes 16 opto-coupler isolated inputs (supporting current sink output and current source output) and 16 semiconductor relay outputs.
Four 32-bit up/down counter channels allow for pulse signal input at up to 500 kHz with two-phase and single-phase signal counting such as with rotary encoders and linear scales.
Sampling can be started and stopped by a variety of triggers, including software triggers, level comparisons, and external triggers (externally applied control signals). Users can select from the sampling period, the internal clock (the high-precision timer installed on the board), and an external clock (an externally applied control signal).
Generation can be started and stopped by a variety of triggers, including software triggers and external triggers (externally applied control signals). Users can select from the generating period, the internal clock (the high-precision timer installed on the board), and an external clock (an externally applied control signal).
These products can be installed in a variety of locations such as on the floor, on a wall, and on the ceiling using screws, magnets (sold separately), rubber feet, and similar methods. All products are also standard-equipped with a DIN rail mounting mechanism, allowing for easy installation inside panels or devices.
Windows and Linux applications can be created using the device driver API-TOOL provided on the Contec website. A diagnostic program that can check hardware operations is also provided.
