Contec has developed two new industrial switching hubs—the SH-9005F and SH-8008AT-POE—with support for a wide range of power supply inputs and dual power supplies. These new products became available for purchase on August 6, 2024.

SH-8008AT-POE
The SH-9005F five-port industrial gigabit switching hub conforms to IEEE 802.3ab (1000BASE-T), IEEE 802.3u (100BASE-TX), and IEEE 802.3 (10BASE-T) standards and supports AutoMDI/MDI-X and auto-negotiation. The hub also supports a wide range of power supply inputs (8 to 35 VDC) and dual power supplies in addition to reverse power connections. It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from −20 to +60°C (-4 to 140°F), offering usability in extreme temperature environments where general-purpose switching hubs cannot typically be used.
The SH-8008AT-POE eight-port industrial switching hub conforms to IEEE 802.3u (100BASE-TX) and IEEE 802.3 (10BASE-T) standards, enabling PoE power based on IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. The hub also supports a wide range of power supply inputs (12 to 54 VDC), dual power supplies, and cascade connections between devices. It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from −40 to +70°C (−40 to 158°F ), offering usability in extreme temperature environments where general-purpose switching hubs cannot typically be used.
These two industrial switching hubs can be used in a wide range of applications, including production lines in automobile and electronic parts factories as well as in food and drug factories, distribution and warehousing facilities, building management and security settings, stations, and commercial facilities.
The switching hub is equipped with five ports capable of supporting up to IEEE 802.3ab (1000BASE-T) standards. The fanless design also makes it possible to use in locations requiring quiet operation and long service life.
The SH-9005F supports DC power supplies from 8 to 35 VDC. Support for dual power supplies also means the hub can still be operated even if there is a problem with one of the power supplies. The hub also features a safety design that ensures correct operation even if the power supply is wired in reverse.
The SH-9005F’s metal casing with excellent heat dissipation enables a wide operating temperature range (−20 to +60°C/-4°F to 140°F) and superior environmental resistance and durability, allowing for dependable usability even in harsh industrial environments.
The mounting bracket included with the SH-9005F and the wall mounting bracket can be used for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail or wall surfaces.
Power can be supplied from up to seven ports to IEEE 802.3af/at–powered devices with up to 30 W per port and up to 105 W* over all ports.
The SH-8008AT-POE is equipped with eight ports* capable of supporting up to IEEE 802.3u (100BASE-TX) standards. The fanless design also makes it possible to use in locations requiring quiet operation and long service life.
This product supports DC power supplies from 12 to 54 VDC. Support for dual power supplies also means the hubs can still be operated even if there is a problem with one of the power supplies.
The mounting bracket included with the SH-8008AT-POE can be used for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail or wall surfaces.
One of the eight Ethernet ports supports cascade connections, ensuring safe operation even when using cascade connections to link multiple instances of this product.
