Contec has begun offering a firmware download for its CONPROSYS™ nano Series that adds support for MQTT, SNMP, and REST APIs.
The CONPROSYS™ nano Series firmware update makes it easier to build systems with server and cloud service integration, enabling use in a wide range of applications, including IoT, equipment monitoring, and data collection and visualization. By providing flexible data integration with higher-level systems alongside existing control and I/O functions, Contec is supporting the advancement of digital transformation (DX) in industrial settings.

The CONPROSYS™ nano Series consists of industrial products featuring the high reliability and expandability required for remote I/O systems. MQTT, newly supported in this update, is a lightweight and efficient IoT protocol ideal for data collection and status notifications via the cloud or message brokers. This allows for easy cloud integration of equipment data and event-based information sharing.
SNMP is a standard protocol for monitoring and managing network devices. Support for this protocol enables centralized monitoring of device statuses from higher-level management systems and network tools, helping to reduce monitoring and management workloads during system operation.
REST APIs are a standard interface specification for exchanging data between applications using web technologies (HTTP). With REST API support, the CONPROSYS™ nano can now be accessed through a versatile interface using HTTP communication.
This enables application development using scripting languages such as Python, as well as simple communication checks and testing via curl, allowing system integration and verification without specialized tools. It also facilitates flexible system construction utilizing web technologies and easy integration with automation and operation tools.
Through support for these communication protocols, the CONPROSYS™ nano Series now serves as a flexible platform covering everything from control applications to IoT and cloud integration, supporting a broader range of system configurations.
