Differences in skill and the workload status of workers make it difficult to determine the actual status of operations in the finishing process of cell production. Being aware of a worker’s current status in cell production and the dwell time of products waiting to be finished makes it possible to visualize the actual status of operations, opening the door to various production efficiency improvements.
In addition to understanding the actual status of operations, this visualization can be a tool for evaluating the effectiveness of work efficiency improvements.
Finishing product entry and exit times are automatically measured using photoelectric tubes, and worker engagement time is automatically measured using a foot switch. Data is collected using CONPROSYS nano—an essential remote I/O device for digitizing interspersed local devices—and then transmitted to the CONPROSYS TM constant monitoring and telemetry system. The amount of time products and workers spend in booths is then recorded along a time axis, and the data is then sent to FacilityView®, a cloud service for remote monitoring over 4G LTE. This data is displayed in a graph on the dashboard using packaged tools that make creating screens without any coding incredibly easy.
Being able to check how much time products and workers spend in booths allows operators to monitor (visualize) actual operation statuses. This makes it possible to notice overworking, underutilization of workers, and unevenness in the work process, which can lead to a variety of improvements (cost reductions).
Cloud services make monitoring and batch management possible from remote locations at different sites.
Administrators can use standard tools to configure settings and change operations on their own when changing the factory production line layout.
