Remote Monitoring and Traceability of pH Value for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

System Overview

Together with rising demand for corporate social responsibility and sustainability, the importance of traceability for waste materials is also growing.

By providing remote monitoring and traceability of the pH value (hydrogen ion concentration) for industrial wastewater treatment, it is possible to identify water quality in real time and automatically create records.Utilizing the records allows the amount of added neutralizer to be optimized, reducing stock and reducing associated fixed costs.

System Configuration

The industrial wastewater pH value is collected by CONPROSYS TM, and the data is stored in the cloud. This makes it possible to check the water quality in real time and optimize the amount of neutralizer that is added.

Advantages/Results

  • pH value visualization using FacilityView

The packaged tools in FacilityView make remote monitoring of the pH value easy even with no programming skills. Saving the data in the cloud reduces the burdens of hardware maintenance and replacement compared to on-premise storage, and also allows long-term data storage. CONPROSYS TM options can be added for monitoring the pressure of the neutralizer tank and monitoring the remaining neutralizer amount.

  • Email notifications if an abnormality occurs

A pH threshold can be set, and if the pH drops below or exceeds the threshold value, emails can be sent to the maintenance department to inform of the abnormality.

  • Reducing costs and contributing to society by fulfilling corporate social responsibility (CSR)

This system makes it possible to eliminate daily work for visual checks of pH meters. It also eliminates the chart recorder and achieves paperless operation. By optimizing the amount of neutralizer added, it also allows neutralizer stock to be reduced and reduces associated fixed costs. Optimizing the amount of added carbon dioxide gas—a typical neutralizer—can also contribute to achieving carbon neutrality.
