Contec Co., Ltd. (listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Securities Code: 6639) has developed a new high-end VPC Series FA computer with support for 3rd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors (development code name: Ice Lake-SP). Contec will start receiving orders for the VPC-7000 Series from December 1, 2021.
With 24-hour operability and superior availability and maintainability, the new VPC-7000 Series FA computer is ideal for various industries requiring stable multiprocessing, including industrial equipment, medical equipment, transportation, social infrastructures, security, and amusement. As the flagship of the series, this computer supports manycore CPUs (max. 32 cores/64 threads) and 8-channel DDR4-3200 high-speed memory and includes three PCI Express 4.0 (x16) expansion slots for utilizing the performance of high-end GPU cards, all while ensuring the environmental resistance and reliability of a server-class specification FA computer. The product provides an HPC/GPU computing environment capable of handling heavy workloads with embedded applications, including high-definition machine vision, AI/deep learning, VR/AR, and virtual machines.
This high-end FA computer supports 3rd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors and uses the Intel® C621A chipset for server/workstation applications.
Equipped with a 1600W redundant power supply unit compatible with high-end GPU boards and three PCI Express 4.0 (x16) slots. It provides a GPU computing environment that can also be used for image processing, machine vision, and AI / deep learning.
The product uses an industrial motherboard developed in-house and composed of high-reliability, long-lasting components. The hot-swappable hardware RAID configuration that allows storage replacement even during continuous system operation is also ideal for systems requiring high availability.
The LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) version of Windows is installed to discourage unnecessary restarts or unwanted feature updates for operational applications. The product has a lockdown function that is useful for the developing secure dedicated terminals. A user can select a language from English / Chinese / Japanese / Korean in Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC.
Long-term product supply is provided, as well as repair and maintenance services. This can significantly reduce life cycle costs, including verification and modification man-hours that were needed with every model change.
