Overview / Features

Introducing new convenient library software from the DAQfast middleware family that allows communication control of a Modbus slave device with a Linux PC, for fast and easy operation of data recording applications. It is no longer necessary to prepare a programmable logic controller (PLC) for communication control of a Modbus device.

• The master functions for Modbus communication are provided by the Linux API, allowing communication control of a Modbus slave device from a Linux PC.
• Supports Modbus TCP (Ethernet base) and Modbus RTU (RS-485 base).
• Includes convenient packaging of the libmodbus free software library (LGPL 2.1 + license) and a simple and clear API function reference manual using an online help format.
• Includes gcc and Python sample programs.
• Supports Contec IoT/M2M communication devices including CONPROSYS IO-Link Master and CONPROSYS nano remote I/O.
• Utilize IO-Link and CONPROSYS with Linux.

  • In combination with CONPROSYS IO-Link Master CPSL-08P1EN , it is possible to construct a PC-based remote I/O system utilizing the wide lineup of IO-Link intelligent sensors.The industrial IoT CONPROSYS Series contains a large number of products equipped with Modbus slave functions. They are extremely convenient when you want to share data between a CONPROSYS Series gateway device or remote I/O device and a Linux PC.

    What is Modbus?

    Modbus is a serial communication protocol that was developed by the company Modicon in 1979 for its programmable logic controllers (PLC). It became the de-facto standard communication protocol for the industrial world and is currently the most widely used means of connecting industrial electronic devices.

    What is IO-Link?

    IO-Link is a technology that was standardized in international standard IEC 61131-9 as a method of establishing a communication connection between a controller and a sensor or actuator. As a sensor-level open network, it is expected to bring advances that will lead to reduced down time in the manufacturing industry.
